Anti-Tip Kit Recall
Dear Valued American Wholesale Furniture Customers,
On January 11, 2024, in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Alliance4Safety and several participating furniture companies announced the recall of a plastic furniture tip restraint kit manufactured by New Age Industries Co., Ltd., of Vietnam. Millions of these tip restraints were supplied to furniture manufacturers and importers for use with clothing storage furniture sold in the United States since November 2019. AWF suppliers affected are Lifestyle and New Classic.
The plastic, zip-tie style tip restraints can become brittle or break, posing a tip-over and entrapment hazard involving the clothing storage furniture to which they are attached. Furniture tip-overs can result in death or serious injuries to consumers, especially small children.
The recalled tip restraint kit may be located inside a top drawer or stapled on the back of a unit. It will be enclosed in a white plastic package with black lettering. The bottom of the package states: Manufactured by New Age Industries.
